Schizophrenia & Psychosis

A mental disorder characterized by disconnection from reality which results in strange behaviour often accompanied by delusion (false belief/ suspiciousness) and hallucination (perception of stimuli like voices, images, sensations).

Bipolar disorder, previously known as manic depression, is a mental disorder characterized by periods of depression and periods of abnormally elevated mood.

Depression

Characterized by persistent sadness and a lack of interest or pleasure in previously rewarding or enjoyable activities.

Anxiety, Panic & Phobia

Anxiety is a feeling of worry, nervousness, or unease, typically about an imminent event or something with an uncertain outcome.

Panic is a sudden sensation of fear, which is so strong as to dominate or prevent reason and logical thinking, replacing it with overwhelming feelings of anxiety and frantic agitation consistent with an animalistic fight-or-flight reaction.

Phobia is an extreme or irrational fear of or aversion to something.

Substance Abuse/ Addiction

Addiction is a biopsychosocial disorder characterized by repeated use of substance (Alcohol, Cannabis, Nicotine, Dendrite etc) or drug (Heroine, Opioid, Sleeping pills, Cough syrup etc) or repetitive engagement in a behavior such as gambling, gaming, net surfing etc despite harm to self and others.

OCD

Obsessive–compulsive disorder (OCD) is a mental disorder in which a person has certain thoughts repeatedly (called "obsessions") or feels the need to perform certain routines repeatedly (called "compulsions") to an extent which generates distress or impairs general functioning. Common compulsions include hand washing, counting of things, and checking to see if a door is locked.

Autism

Autism is a developmental disorder characterized by difficulties with social interaction and communication, and by restricted and repetitive behavior. Parents often notice signs during the first three years of their child's life.

Woman Psychiatry

Gender differences occur particularly in the rates of common mental disorders (CMDs)-depression, anxiety, and somatic complaints wherein women predominate. A premenstrual dysphoric disorder consisting of extremely distressing emotional and behavioral symptoms. Low income, birth of a daughter when a son was desired, relationship difficulties with mother-in-law and parents, adverse life events during pregnancy and lack of physical help are all risk factors for the onset of postpartum depression.

Neuropsychiatry

Neuropsychiatry is a specialist area of medicine where psychiatry, neurology and neuroscience meet. Neuropsychiatrists focus on the uniquely complex relationship between the brain and the mind in order to better understand and treat mental illness related to neurological conditions and neurological symptoms that are caused by mental ill health. These can include problems with thinking, emotions, memory or behaviour.

Geriatric Psychiatry

Geriatric psychiatry emphasizes the biological and psychological aspects of normal aging, the psychiatric effect of acute and chronic physical illness, and the biological and psychosocial aspects of the pathology of primary psychiatric disturbances of older age.

Headache

Headache is the symptom of pain in the face, head, or neck. It can occur as a migraine, tension-type headache, or cluster headache. Frequent headaches can affect relationships and employment. There is also an increased risk of depression in those with severe headaches. 

Headache is not always related to an underlying condition. It may be caused by:

  • Stress

  • Emotional distress

Dementia

Dementia describes a group of symptoms affecting memory, thinking and social abilities severely enough to interfere with your daily life. It isn't a specific disease, but several different diseases may cause dementia. Common causes are Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, Post stroke dementia etc.

Seizure Disorder

A seizure is a sudden disruption of the brain's normal electrical activity accompanied by altered consciousness and/or other neurological and behavioral manifestations. Epilepsy is a condition characterized by recurrent seizures that may include repetitive muscle jerking called convulsions.

Suicidal Thought & Attempt

Suicide is the act of intentionally causing one's own death. Mental disorders—including depression, bipolar disorder, autism, schizophrenia, personality disorders, anxiety disorders, physical disorders such as chronic fatigue syndrome, and substance abuse—including alcoholism and the use of and withdrawal from benzodiazepines—are risk factors.

Personality Disorder

A personality disorder is a type of mental disorder in which you have a rigid and unhealthy pattern of thinking, functioning and behaving. A person with a personality disorder has trouble perceiving and relating to situations and people. This causes significant problems and limitations in relationships, social activities, work and school.

Sleep Disorder

The collective term sleep disorder refers to conditions that affect sleep quality, timing, or duration and impact a person’s ability to properly function while they are awake.

Relationship Discord

“Marital discord” is also a relatively broad term, referring to a state of marital dissatisfaction in conjunction with any of a number of problems that may beset couples and lead to long‐standing marital conflict, loss of marital commitment, feelings of estrangement within marriage, or marital dissolution.

Eating Disorder

An eating disorder is a mental disorder defined by abnormal eating habits that negatively affect a person's physical and/or mental health. They include binge eating disorder, where people eat a large amount in a short period of time; anorexia nervosa, where people eat very little due to a fear of gaining weight and thus have a low body weight.
